The Picnic Day is committed to reducing damages to our environment by utilizing organic, non-toxic and eco-friendly materials and methods throughout the business.

Making, selling and purchasing clothes have a significant impact on our own environment unfortunately. We do our share to minimize it.

Why? Because all children, and their children, deserve to grow up in a healthy and safe environment regardless of where they live.

Organic Cotton & Recycled Cotton

All our cotton products are made of either GOTS certified cotton or recycled cotton.

Every year a large number of conventional cotton farmers worldwide are poisoned by their exposure to toxic pesticides. By choosing Organic Cotton products we can prevent this tragedy.

Recycled cotton enables us to save water, reduce CO2 emissions, and of course decrease the amount of textile waste that reaches landfills.

Bamboo fabric

Being one of the fastest growing plants, bamboo is considered a great bio-based alternative to cotton. Bamboo fabric is very soft and smooth, and it is absorbent like other natural materials. The plant needs no pesticides, much less water than cotton to grow which is less intensive on land.

One Of A Kind

Along with other earth-friendly lines, The Picnic Day offers one of a kind items which are all handcrafted in New York City. They are made of fabric scraps and second hand materials to give some inspiration in this ultra high-speed world.

We are a proud member of 1% For The Planet, an international organization whose members contribute to environmental causes by assisting nonprofit organizations that protect land, forests, rivers, oceans and encourage sustainable methods of energy production.

Currently we partner with One Tree Planted, a non-profit focused on global reforestation.
